IT WAS INEVITABLE--MORE NICK THIEL TRASH

Post by jingle_jangle »

In the Beat Gear Cavern. Karl Teten, who misread the original threads on this whole nasty fraud, has posted the following message:

"In Terry's Rickenbacker Forum link a guy say's it was Paul Wilczynski that was involved with Nick Theil making the fake Rickenbackers. The guy say's he called Paul W......

In late April I got word that Paul W hadn't started on any of Nick's guitars and that he hadn't received a dime. I was gutted and decided I'd had enough and wanted to talk to Paul W directly. I called him up and pretty much said everything that is in this email. He repeated that he hadn't received any money. I called Nick immediately and said "What's the deal?" He said he was shocked and that he Wester Union'd Paul $11,000 (to cover two guitars) more than a month ago. He said he was going to talk to Paul.

I feel sorry for John Hall. You think you know your friends. Talk about heavy deception."

Obviously, he's quoting Alisha's post in the original NT thread, and without reading carefully, has gone on to slander me, in print, in a public forum.

I want to clarify right now--I have never agreed to make any counterfeit Rickenbackers for anyone at any time. I value my close working rel;ationship with John Hall and RIC, too much, to ever become involved in any sort of shady dealings.

I now call on Karl Teten to do the only right thing and print an apology and retraction to his slanderous post.

I saw that too. Karl really didn't seem to read it correctly. I hope he will put things right asap.

I can only hope that some of those who are members of both this forum and of the Beat Gear Cavern will post a note over there which might help in clearing Paul's good name.

Paul, when I posted that thread it was probably 5 minutes into the entire Nick Theil explosion on the internet. I had no idea how long Alisha's post had been up.

(Apology to Alisha for referring to you as a "guy" - your RF name "guitar tech" threw me off).

What I saw at first, and what everyone saw at first, was Paul as a possible link in the Theil messathon. All I did was cut and paste, word for word, a quote from Alisha's original unedited post. I was just the messenger who was quite stunned to see you name in the possible game.

I am very glad to hear you had no involvement with Theil. I can understand you frustration in this matter. When I made my original post you had yet to come out and clear yourself.

I do apologize Paul for any grief and meant no harm personally.

Love to all. K

Thanks, Karl, for setting this right.

Another call to stop and think before we post on this subject. It's important to stick to the facts only, until the full scope of what's gone down comes to light. We need to make sure we protect both the forum and ourselves.

Kris, that's good advice for posting on any subject that tends to yank one's chain.

Brian, there are threads on this that have moved to "For Sale" - only accessible by forum-ites I think. John Hall posted this to the Ric corporate website a couple of days ago:
http://www.rickenbacker.com/news_item.asp?news_id=53&news=recent

I think Paul put it here to make sure that Karl and others would see it.

That is correct, and it has served its purpose.

Now either this thread will suffer the inevitable light-hearted drift or the inevitable lack of interest...and either is fine with me.
