Country song

Post by jdogric12 »

Here's a somewhat silly song my band just recorded tonight. Sorry no Ricks. Taylor 214ce and Carlo Rosmelli ac/el bass.

"Goin' Down" by Matt Slaughter, Jason Mendelson, Carlos Fernandez (aka It Rhymes With Orange)

That's great. I like it. Shades of Johnny Cash, there.

I like it too. However, where's that new lap steel of yours? Image

That thing is too hard to play just yet, and the other one is tuned to C6, and I didn't feel like figuring it out on the fly.

Well, it sounds more like a spoof of a Johnny Cash song than anything serious. And using a Taylor for country ... y'all should be ashamed of yerselves.

Jason, my mom just listened to "Goin' Down" and wants to buy a copy of the CD so she can add it to her iPod.

This is from someone who says that most of today's country acts are wanabee rock-n-roll stars, who couldn't get a contract with a rock label.

BTW, she also liked "Maybe Nobody".

Hehe.... I think it's a spoof on country music in general.... You know, all those twangy songs about drinkin' and gamblin' and rollin' in the hay, and the singer's bemoaning all of their hard luck in at least one of those areas.... Very clever!
