Fake 4005 in Japan

Post by sakuradamon »

I never seen a fake 4005 bass before.

http://page6.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/f58645507

My Translation software says this as the description:

It is made very politely over the detail it though it is not made by the company of Rickenbacker ..the Rickenbacker 4005 type (with in the case of that exists in the image hard) it... As for the color, Kiz etc. seem to enter the class of the beauty goods few in most midnight blues (dark blue) for appreciation it. I think that it is a special order goods of a Tokyo certain music store though it is not certain. Therefore, it came to exhibit this time for the machine parts arrangement though the thing that was scarce goods made a mistake and did not exist. After it makes a successful bid, I hope without a no claim no return and the cancellation because it is possible and makes it answer if it is possible to question. Please continue your favors toward person * retrieval >4000 of Rikkemmania 4001 4003 V63 Beatles bizarre Paul McCartney John Lennon

This one has appeared before here.

You know, insofar as copies go, at least most of the time the sellers indicate that is what they are (as above) - unlike some other unscrupulous "experts" that try and pass off fakes as the real thing. Those fine individuals are the ones that really need a hard kick in the nether regions.

Damn,

That's $1297.00 USD for a copy.

OUCH.

IF my currency converter is accurate, that is!

I wonder if he didn't start with a real 4005 carcass and add available parts. That's a Hofner 500/ series tailpiece.

It is Rickenbacker 4005 type, (the hard case which to the picture is to be attached) is not the ƒŠƒbƒPƒ“ƒoƒbƒJ

I don't think that's a real 4005, the inlays are clearly not RIC material and the fretboard looks wrong too.

Because the bass is SUG (Sea Urchin Glo) ?

Disclaimer, no actual sea urchins were harmed in the making of this bass..........

The SPCU (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Sea Urchins) was intimately involved in the making of this bass finish, natch Image

John, I may not speak for us all, but I feel that this one has a certain integrity amongst fakers. I know that JH will do all he can to get this one destroyed, but I for one would like to give it a good trying out first. Heresy I know, but honest....

Well, the ad did say that it was made politely.
