Umm .... 30-40 miles maybe, I'd opt for a taxi, or rent a car !!

I'm very nervous about driving on the "other' side of the road, Jim. Especially around LA and environs!

Howard - I have decided to take Thursday off also, and could pick you up if needed, it's on the way! I have a 2001 Ford F350 four door longbed dually, so you can bring whatever!

I understand Howard, a taxi would get you down there safe and not too expensive, or, take Charly up on his kind offer, on the way back you can get an Airport shuttle from your hotel.

Howard - You'll get the hang of it quickly. I went to England in 1999. I had a rental car and drove all around London, up to Liverpool and all around that city.

Aitch, Robyn and I will also be coming through from Hollywood to Santa Ana on Thursday.

We will most likely be in a big fat pimp-mobile and I'll be behind the wheel. You're welcome to take your chances with us! Image

Hey! That's a wonderful offer, Charly! I'll only have a smallish bag and guitar, so even if you had a dirt bike we could probably manage it!! Image

Trotty, I wasn't sure what day/time, etc. you'd be heading down to Santa Ana, but if the time suits that would be great also. We'll discuss it tonight, eh?

I've driven on the right before, Kris. Drove a bit around CA (Marin County and Interstate 5) last year and have done a fair bit of driving in Italy. However, having driven through LA with Paul W last year, I'd be soiling my undies if I had to do it on my own!! Image

Darren,
Are you going to rent a car like Graham had? 300 Hemi or the Shelby like JW had?

Does anybody have a schedule of events or activities that are planned? I'm so late on the info but would like to meet back up again with everyone from last year.

Regards,
Ashley

No worries on that account, Charly!! Image

Ashley: Here is an unofficial schedule:

Thursday 23rd - arrive, whoop with delight, check into the hotel, hit the bar with Darren and other forumites. Dinner with forumites then hit the bar again!!

Friday: Modified version of Thursday.
Saturday: Yet another modified version.
Sunday: Probably more modifications.
Monday: Crawl home to Oz.

I'm sure the "organizing committee" are working on a schedule. Personally I hope there's lots of jammin', eatin' and drinkin' time!!

How dare you talk about my friend (and fellow lefty) like that. Image

Actually, I wish he was going to be there. If he is able to make the trip, I could probably hear how my Rics are supposed to sound! Image
