Rush- Opening night in Atlanta
I saw Rush open their tour last night and just when I thought Geddy was going to settle with tearing the frets off that Jazz bass all night, he fooled me and strapped on a black 4001 for "Passage to Bangkok". I closed my eyes and for a moment, it was the old days again.....Maybe next tour, we'll see a doubleneck sighting?

Yeah, I just posted this in the Rick Artists Forum. I think it's pretty cool that they have been listening to the fans and have been trying to do some things like playing some older songs and a token rick showing. The word on another forum is the rick sounded pretty damn good!

For me, one of the highlights of the night was Natural Science and Witch Hunt back to back. It was a great night for all, but beware of those $10.00 beers. And Wes, I think you misunderstood the meaning of my original post. I don't recall saying anything about what Geddy should or should not play. I merely mentioned a Ricky sighting and since this is the Rickenbacker forum..... It could have been a P-bass cut into the shape of a teardrop.
Oh not you specifically. This forum just goes on and on about how Geddy should go back to the Rick and play the old stuff all the time like some reunion band. After 30 years I think they are still a viable musical force because they have evolved. You think of the Stones, Chicago, Grand Funk, and any other act from the 70's and they are touring but not turning out commercially acceptable new material. For the god's sake STYX was just in town and what must they sound like, ick. I'm a fan of Rush from early on and admire the seasons of their career together as a core group. If anything, Geddy should have dragged out the Pbass, 4001, 4080, Wal, Stienberger, and Taurus pedals for the R30 tour and not this time. This tour is in support of Snakes and Arrows which I assume is Rick-less.
No matter where you go - there you are.
