I booked my flight a few weeks ago and the schedule was to land in LAX and wait 45 minutes to board a smaller plane and fly to John Wayne where my rental car awaits. I was seriously thinking about forgetting the smaller plane all together and taking a shuttle or something to John Wayne to pick up my car. What do you think guys? Is that feasible or should I change my rent-a-car and get it from LAX?

Ben, I'd fly straight to SNA (John Wayne Airport) and forget about LAX. That is what I am doing.

Image Graham, I know you really don't mean everything you say. Image

Ben, if I were flying into LAX, I would just rent a car there. On a Thursday evening, the hotel is probably less than an hour away.

I`ll just drive from my house. About a 40 minute drive. All downhill.

Though they call Thursday "Ride Share Thursday's" here in L.A., I find Thursday evenings on the 405, 105, all routes to and from LAX to be the busiest evening of the week. Brace yourselves!

I extended my stay by two days. I'm arriving Wednesday night instead of Thursday night and I am leaving Monday night instead of Sunday night. Orbits charged me $260 in penalties and $200 was added to the flight costs. My rental car was going to cost me $80 for the weekend. Now I am being charged the weekly rate of $300. Add two more days at the Holiday inn...which is another $200. Two more days is going to cost me $880 more!

and the fun we will have....priceless!!!!!!!!
Chin up honey it's only money and we can't take it with us. Besides what else would we do leave it to the kids? We are going to go to SoCal and have a fantastic time.
May you always work like you don't need money;
May you always love like you've never been hurt;
and may you always dance like there's nobody watching.
