it is sort of like a sans amp ... but it also has a mid control and a noise gate ...

I've had one for a while, works nice as a DI but I never liked the distortion.

I had one too Jeff. Nice little box, built like a tank.

I sold it to a friend of mine when I got my sansamp. I wish I'd have kept it. Good bang for the money.

I've had one a couple years, my SansAmp is on the shelf collecting dust. Gets a good "Think For Yourself" fuzz, and the tone controls are very responsive.
