660 cases

have non-signature 660's always shipped in skb cases? what about the tp's?

It would appear that at one time, 660's shipped in vintage cases. I've certainly seen a number of them for sale with a vintage case. Now they ship with an SKB case. Don't know about the TP's.

My '04 came in an SKB. Mind you, this is Australia...... all sorts of weird things happen here!! Image

My '02 660/12 came with a vintage case; my '07 660DCM came with an SKB case!

My '04 660/12 came with the vintage case. I can't believe an anniversary 660 came with an SKB!

Both my 660/12 (04) and DCM are in SKBs.

My 660/12TP FG came with an SKB case which had to be original, but I bought a guitarless vintage reissue 660/12TP case for my 660/12TP JG which came in a 1960s silver 400 series case.

So far, it's looking like sometime in '04 RIC went from vintage to SKB's for the 660's.

My understanding is that 660's always came stock with the SKB case. However many dealers ordered 660's with the vintage case upgrade. We stopped seeing 660's come with vintage cases when the case upgrade option was removed from the pricelist.
