It wouldn't be an AutumnGlo, would it?

It's too brown... isn't it?

It sure is a nice color scheme, ain't it?

It's either Walnut or Autumnglo, whichever had the matte finish. I can never remeber. I know Autumnglo was glossy in Canada, at least I think so...

I'd say it is Autumnglo. I bought an Autumnglo '76 from Mike Parks a few years ago. The picture made it look darker than it was. He said the Autumnglo matte finish was for export to Canada that year, it doesn't show up on the Ric color charts for '76. Here is the Picture from Mike Parks Rickenbacker page:

Check out the finish timeline at http://www.the-music-connection.com/ricinfo.htm and see the note about Autumnglo at the bottom. It links to the bass I bought from him pictured above.

And here is a picture I took when I sold it on ebay last year.

This is one of those mid 70's special 4001's finished in Autumglo that were exported to Canada.
You can clearly see the satin finish which is how the 70's version of Autumglo appears.
The gloss version is Walnut.
I know there have been various versions of Autumglo over the years and they are often difficult to tell apart. But I clearly remember John Hall telling me about the version pictured above and describing the differences of the 70 version of Autumglo and Walnut.
Cheers,
