Minor technicality: this thread should actually be listed under The Others.

I dunno.

Its got Rick parts, and its a bass, maybe a 2nd or 3rd cousin twice removed? Image

Looks like a nice gigging, (working) bass anyway.

I see Rick pickups (one dead) and a link to the Fender Forum...

There's nothing personal here. It's an interesting and apparently well-built assemblage. And if it plays well, too, why, it's accomplished its task!

But if the colors on my iMac are accurate, this is not Blue Boy. It is Baby Blue, which is much less subtle, and the masculine version of Barbie Pink.

Blue is a tough color to render as pastel. There is a narrow range of very pale blues which look elegant. Blue boy is in this range.

When I match the formula for BB, I use white, phthalo blue (red shade) and (believe it or not) lemon yellow! There's almost as much yellow in the formula as there is blue.

Who'da thunk it...

It's Daphne Blue, a Fender custom color. Guitar reranch was the supplier.

Actually we had practice today and it is VERY bright, the toasters are rather hot. I am running 500K vol and tone pots so it is trebly. I might swap the cap from the .05uf in there now to a .1uf. I am running Maxima Gold strings.

Thanks for the comments! And thanks to Jeff for the 4004 bridge, it works great!
