There was a band in Minneapolis who took the name Free Beer as a way to ensure attendance... They must have played to some hostile crowds!

My band was named after a song by the Holy Modal Rounders. We're the Euphoria String Band.

Free Beer is one of the oldest band jokes going, have heard that one for over 30 years now. I did actually see that on a marquee not too long ago though as a band name here in Worcester MA.
I liked Post Mortem.

Just for laughs, I found an online band name generator. Most of them were not very funny. However there was one that I thought was pretty good; Tribe of Honkies.

My next band is going to be called Onomatopoeia!
I need to get a 330 like Weller's Wham guitar.

I remember the thread when a whole bunch of us were playing with the online band name generator.... There were some truly funny ones that came out of that!

One that came up when I plugged my nickname into it was "Wired Melibee and the Delicious Racket!" Actually, I think Delicious Racket would be a great name for an all-girl rock band....

I kind of like "Midnight Espresso" as a band name....
"Once I've held and played the best, baby, I won't settle for less!"

A band called Philately would be worth collecting.
