You buy the guitar, you take it home. You don't play it much because frankly it feels weird. Because it's a rare Gibson, you keep it in the case. And whenever people come over, you always show them the Lava Lamp Guitar. Their faces always express surprise and they always say "wow"...but...
But they go home and talk about what a ridiculous thing you bought for too much money. And they dread coming over now because you always have to show off that, that Thing...
This is when its time to consider philanthropy.

My idea of appropriate philanthropy would be to burn the guitar.

When I was aboard the USS Alamo, we had a guy who found what I assume is the world's largest turd in the sewer pipes on the ship. (The pipe was clogged so it may have been multiples compressed). Anyways, they lacquered, resined, whatever you call it, so as to preserve it for history. Put some strings and a body on that bad boy and get it on ebay!

Charly, thanks for the lovely visual.
Personally, I'd do a Damien Hirst on it or embed it in a block of lucite.
Now, can we get back onto stringed things?

Hans Solo? Is that Han Solo's Teutonic doppelganger?
Dammit, where's that umlaut key when I need it?
