FYI, I opened a valuables policy on my music gear with my insurance company--very reasonable--I was actually surprised they even considered it for New Orleans. And the gear was covered in the moving truck and in the Uhaul. It's an item-by-item listing with declared values for each piece of gear. Very comforting. I think it only works if you're a non-professional though...a category my talent definitely qualifies me for!

John, another option if you elect to drive your collection would be to pre-establish a network of forum members who would put you up for the night. The safety of a garage or more secure neighborhood would allow you to sleep at night. We could document the trip in a thread for all to live vicariously through - without announcing the next stay until after leaving that place.

There you go John, that's a fabulous suggestion, not only a safe trip but you could meet up with people you know and maybe those you don't. The bonus being the truck/van would be safe overnight.

On the other hand though, you mightn't be in a very fit state to travel the next day if the hospitality went over the top! LOL

From the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be advice for a guitar sales manager.

Good call Ron... a layover at casa Bob and you're not leaving until at least mid-afternoon! Image

So John, do you know of an opening?

Bob - That would probably have an effect on us Neanderthals, but I'm guessing wouldn't so much for Melissa or Alisha.....LOL
