4005 Reissue

Didn't the 75th DCM's sell out in a day or two when they were offered? That was for 300 pieces and they went quicker than you can snap your fingers. Why not offer limited edition reissues of rare models such as the 4005 or the 480/481? How many pieces would it take to make a decent profit for RIC? 300? 200? 100? I suspect that they would sell just as fast as the DCM's. I also realize that all of this is moot considering the current backorder situation. It's just a thought.

The DCMs sold out in about four hours! This is to dealers, mind you, from RIC.

This is my '67 4005WB with 3 1/2 year old D'Addario Chromes flatwounds on it.

I think the sound is just from Tammy's camcorder/movie mode on digital camera. Still, you can get a decent idea of how it sounds.

Brian, they didn't have to do an special re tooling for the 75th's. I asked earlier how many of us would pay $4000-$6,000 for reissues. I can't see RIC being able to do it for less.

Thanks for posting the link, Jeff. I must have missed that jam session! Nice, deep tone on that monster - very rick-ish despite being an atypical rick bass. OK, I want one!
