Notice the rounded back edges. A real 4005 would not have that.

A lot of interest and questions indicates a Stone Roses interest as well as the "halo" effect from confusion over the RIC look.

Since when has ugliness ever failed to attract its own fan club?

Blimey - for a self-confessed non-Rick thats a pretty rich price - there must be some serious Mani fanatics out there. Wonder what they would pay for a real Rick? I just restored my 3000 with a custom Fireglo finish (I posted pics a few weeks back)and it looks very similar to Mani's current bass - not that I want to sell it as I love it. Makes me think the cost of doing it up to put it in pristine condition was worthwhile. Thank you Mani!

It could be that someone wanted a 4005 on the cheap and they didn't care if it was fake, just so long as it was close enough. It does have real Rick hardware and higain pickups.

Cheap compared to a real 4005, way overpriced for what it is. Intrinsic worth would be perhaps 7% of what it sold for; it isn't that close to a 4005 in appearance, I would think, to attract a Rick person, but for a Stone Roses wannabee with $2K to spend, well...

(Ignoring the trademark issues, of course.)

RIC is on vacation until Monday...I would think that they're enjoying a well-earned rest.

q: "Since when has ugliness ever failed to attract its own fan club?"

a: I present to the court exhibit a in support, Paris Hilton.

it's too bad that ric was on vacation, since there were some notable fakes with this one and the one at chicago music...
