I know it's not a Rick, so sue me! But it's the Beatles section and it's all John!

Gibson is releasing a John Lennon Les Paul Junior complete with Charlie Christian Neck pickup!

Not on the site yet, but pics have leaked, MAP is 4999$, should have a street price closer to 3500!

I'd love to try one!

Those neck pickups are apparently the most sweet sounding in the entire world! I want!, but I don't wanna pay...

There was one like this a guitar store locally a couple of years back. There's some guy that works there that likes to dupicate famous guitars, he'd done a Rocky, a Revolution style Casino, Neil Young's Blackie, a few others. But I got to play it while it was there, and it was amazing. I tried a few country style licks on the neck pickup and it sounded fantastic. I did a few Lennon things, and a couple of Beatles things, and it sounded great too. I think this is going to be a popular guitar. I think we'll be surprised about how many country guitars are going to use these.

Isn't this the guitar he used to play a duet with Chuck Berry on the Mike Douglas Show? And also used in Elephants Memory gigs?

Why do people think they can make a random signature model of a guitar that John isn't known for? The 325 is identifiable with Lennon. The Casino, is too, but this thing? C'mon. Just because he played one doesn't mean there should be a sig model. Now I'm waiting the the John Lennon Telecaster or Sonic Blue Strat.

The thing about this Les Paul, I find it symbolises a detachement from the Beatles. 1972, Breakup is over, he's playing a concert, not even using the same guitar he was known for when he was Beatle John. The Dream was over, and that guitar should sound sweet!!!!

John, that seems to be why anyone does anything... do you think Ric made a John Kay signature model because it would be a nice thing to do? do you tihnk Fender made an SRV sig model because he really earned it?

It's all about the almighty dollar. Always has been. Not that that is necessarily a bad thing, but the public is getting things it wants (because they buy it) and the companies are getting the money they want (because they sell it)

Downside???
