New Category Ideas

Post by lyle_from_minneapolis »

I was starting to feel a little too serious. Conversations about Michael Moore and Dick Cheney will do that. But my Other Side came to the rescue and lightened me up. Feel free to add your own New Category Ideas! Here we go:

ImageEMOTICONS ONLY Image
Just emoticons.Image Nothing else.Image Why confuse people with words? Emoticons say it all. Image

THREAD DRIFT
No worries here, you can change the subject all you want, without feeling guilty about it. Phil Spector, as a matter of fact, is probably guilty. Sonny Bono worked for him, and he's the main reason I don't ski. Rossignol makes skis. Ah, but I digress...and it's okay!

SUSANNAH HOFFS
We have links to The Beatles, The Byrds, The Searchers. Hey, Susannah is actually alive! Yeah, I know there won't be all that much to discuss, but the pics are always well-received.

DOWN IN FLAMES
Too much civility can be dull. Let's just rip on each other in this exhilarating category. Oh, and by the way, your opinion sucks.

TAIL LIFT
This is where you can talk about it until you're blue in the face, just like in the other new categories: ZYMOL, STRING GAUGE, and BRING BACK MY FAVORITE DISCONTINUED GUITAR.

Surely there are some others out there...whatcha got?

TAIL LIFT! Now there's a fresh new idea! How did you ever think of that Mark? haha!

I'm really good at THREAD DRIFT already.

DOWN IN FLAMES is no fun, been there, done that.

BRING BACK MY FAVORITE DISCONTINUED GUITAR.
Hey I got an idea... How about.... ummmm... BRING BACK THE 4005! Never seen that one before.
I got another one how about a.... V68! with full length MOP inlays, checkered binding, toaster, screwtop high gain, the works, neck 1/4" thick! What a great idea! Probably be cheap too.

SUSANNAH HOFFS, who the hell is that? Wasn't she in a band called the Bankos or something like that, looked pretty and smiled a lot?

I forgot about that one: FLATS VS ROUNDS, I bet that would be a fun topic, probably wouldn't last very long though.

So why is there no YES and Chris Squire category? Of all the bands who have used Rickenbackers, surely Chris Squire the First Great Star to use a 4001, the only continuous member of Yes since he founded it, deserves an area all his own Image
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and sit in with the band whenever you can, to keep your chops up!

...or Susannah

Seriously, a Yes category would get a lot of play.

Pictures section? Like, "My Rickenbackers", "My other guitars", "Look what i've got", "Me and my Rickenbackers", "Me and my favourite musician(s)", "My son/daughter playing/trying to make a mess of my guitars/amps", whatever.
Or maybe, since there is a section dedicated to 50s and 60s music, - separate sections dedicated to 70s, 80s, 90s, etc music?
Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.
