2004 finish

Post by cheyenne »

My cash stash for a new 4003 is growing, any speculation on what the color for '04 may be?

I'll place my order in a heartbeat if it's this finish:

Jared,
You can find descriptions and more photos of the 350 Purpleburst at the bottom in here.

The story about the green babies can be found here, here, and here.

Man, a 4003 Purpleburst with checkered headstock and body binding like this would be ultra-awesome!

That 350 Purpleburst is especially easy on the eyes.... what a beauty! The checkered binding is a stunning contrast on that guitar. I absoulutely love that body style. But yes, that color and binding would be really cool on a bass, too!

You're welcome, Jared.
I'm still learning and hope I don't screw up again like in the "transluscent red" thread, haha!

I saw a Japanese band last month on MTV here in Lima with I swear that green six string, the video said R.E.M. but I did not see them at all in the video, but then again I missed the beginning of it, and never heard the song before. I was so interested in the guitar that I didn't even listen to the song, so I couldn't even tell you if it was R.E.M. If it wasn't that guitar it was an exact copy.
BTW is it R.E.M. or REM?
I am kind of so so about the green ones but I love that Mark Hudson purpleburst.

Well it looks like they disclosed it, according to the web page:

http://www.rickenbacker.com/us/options.htm

I was hoping for an entirely new color (some sorta purple), but Blueboy is cool, too. Makes it easier on my wallet. Image And for those that wanted Montezuma Brown but missed the cutoff, they can rejoice.

So Ed Roman did disclose the color, I wonder if Ric will cancel his orders as it was rumored?

I thought it was going to be Blueboy a long time ago. I think it's a great color.

I'm surprised to see that Montezuma Brown is "Extended thru 2004". I guess it is all part of a plot to induce me to buy just one more, just one more, till I have have one of every model in Montezuma Brown...
And I was frankly a little bit surprised to see that the color is Blueboy, because I thought that color was introduced to reward authorized dealers in markets outside the U.S. So I assumed it would never be offered for sale here.
I like it a lot though, I'd really like to see one in person... You folks that are going to NAMM, please try to get us some pics here on the Forum, so we can see what's going on...
I like the Turqouise as well, and I'm kinda sad to see it go, although I don't own a guitar in that finish.
