When I'm done, I'm going to send it to Jeff to convert it to a 5 string of course! High C.
I think the creme P bass pickup would look great between the other two, what do you think? Maybe I can make the hall of shame.
Laugh all! har har! this will be a nice bass when I'm done (I hope) and I'll probably be the only one here who knows anything about those early 4003 truss rods.
Help! I need some advice quickly!

Gene I've actually had two of these before, both were 84 jetglos and I never really had any trouble with them, the necks were solid on both so I never took them apart except to adjust them, but this one I'm sure I will, in fact I will just to see what the construction and design is like. In my limited experience these early necks and truss rod designs were much stronger than many 4001's. They are a pain to adjust though, you have to take off the bass pickup part of the pickguard, and it is kind of awkward getting something in there to adjust the nuts, the strings get in the way. The nuts are also 3/8" instead of 1/4" like all the other Rics.
