NOT EASY BEING GREEN...
I tried, I really did.
But this 730L lasted less than 24 hours in this color before I scraped it back to Mapleglo.

It will now receive a more appealing color burst; sorry, Sheena. I know how you love the color, and it did look kind of unique on those 360s...

Never better not to try. Of course I gave it my best; it was after the burst was finished that I hung it up, stood back, and realized that it was hideous. I came very close to putting varnish over it, which does add dimension to the wood; the green was a translucent color and the grain showed through, although this is not too evident in the pictures.
This is, in fact, the first guitar that I've ever painted that I've not completed due to hideosity rearing its, er, ugly head. Perhaps it would have passed eventually; I mean, it would have had gold plated tuners and gold-painted guard and TRC.
Nah.

Huh. It's not my favourite shade of green, anyway. And if the paint can be easily removed, that's fine, gives the opportunity to try anything from "acid green" to pearlescent pink. May i ask a couple of stupid questions, if you don't mind?
1. Before it was done, did you have a feeling whether it'd be beautiful or ugly? Yes, i do believe it works, and sometimes, no matter how you try, if you know from the start you don't like what you do, the result would be far from perfect.
2. Suppose it was a requested color & the work was - i dunno, prepaid or something, which guaranteed that the client would take it in that exact color (and no other) without a word in that color & pay top dollar. Would you try to tell the client that it's "ugly, disgusting, aaargh, etc"?

Nothing will get you dead quicker than being deadly serious about yourself.

Sheena,
1. I was trying for unusual and beautiful. That's how the purple ones started; every one a different shade of purple and all quite nice.
2. An unrealistic situation, so no use speculating. Most, if not all, clients, trust my color sense and experience and I would not let them down, if that helps.
