Cute little Rick bass sighting...
I bought Rush's new DVD Rush In Rio yesterday, and included on the second disc is a documentary. A crowd is there to meet the band as they arrive at the airport, and lo and behold someone in the crowd wasn't content to have an album jacket autographed, but rather his jetglo 4001/4003 (can't tell which.) Or maybe he was trying to urge Geddy to come back to the light and put down that Fender.

The DVD's great, *tons* of music to be seen and heard. Little funny Rushian-humor "moments" sprinkled here and there (Alex Lifeson is a total nutcase!) The documentary's pretty interesting too and not without its funny moments itself. Geddy's screechy as always (part of the charm for me) and the band sounds great overall. Geddy still needs to pick up his Ricks again though.
This DVD was shot in Rio at the biggest gig they've ever done..60,000 people! You'd think it was the 70's or maybe the 80's the way the audience was singing and swaying to the music. Their last several albums have gotten no airplay here in So.Cal. which further illustrates how bad radio is at least here. Anyway...they were great, sound was awsome, performances tight as hell. What can I say...buy this DVD! I tried to hide it so she'd leave it but no dice. Now I gotta buy it!
