Motivan: John Hall has graciously provided us with a window to the life and times of RIC that has given us a more complete understanding of Rickenbacker instruments. His efforts on behalf Rickenbacker enthusiasts is second to none in my books.

In addition to the insight which Peter indicated above and producing the instruments that most of us cherish, John Hall has shown me that he is a man of principles, in that RIC will not sacrifice quality for quantity.

In today's corporate world of international business, many others manufacturers (including small ones) have jumped at the opportunity to cut production costs, increase production, and sale a less expensive and quite possible, an inferior instrument. I doubt that we will ever see that as long as John Hall is at the helm.

A fine example of the topic in the post above is Spector. Once a handmade, gorgeous instrument, now they are going begging for $400 at Guitar Centers across the USA. Not to mention that they allowed OLP to made even CHEAPER versions of their basses, which lowers the value of the good ones! I applaud Rickenbacker for their standards of quality, although it would be nice to walk into a Guitar Center and pick one up, but only if it is the quality instrument we have all come to know and love.
