Hi Mike,
yeah, welcome, I've learned a real lot here and expect to continue to learn about these great basses, there are also many different opinions here about many different types of things, so this is a very interesting place to be. I also just bought a Burgandy 81 4003 which I am going to restore to original (if it ever gets to Lima Perú) with the help of some fine people here, including Sérgio above who is going to help me out with my dead pickups.
Check out the archives there is a lot of great stuff there.

Ahh, good ol' Mr. Squire, always one of the... ahem, finer dressers in rock.

Michael,
You can create a free acount at http://photos.yahoo.com. Photos which are no larger than 1 MB that you upload there will automatically be converted to well under 35k that's postable here.
Or you can register for a free acount at www.villagephotos.com. that provides image shrinking software.

Andy (O'Connor):
Hi! Well, I've been here, there and everywhere! Seriously, I've been doing lots of things, a minute number of which have been Rickenbacker-related: in a few weeks I'm to add a further (used) 4001 bass to my collection. I believe this one 'baby' was not that common (sports a black nameplate & pickguard) back when it was made (mid-70s). All will be revealed!
Check you later. Peace.

A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.
By the way I downloaded www.irfanview.com, someone on this site suggested it. It's free and a very good photoshop.
