My Barrel Chair

Post by wmthor »

Week before last, I was up in Wisconsin cleaning out my aunt's house (she passed away earlier this year) and among the possessions that I had shipped back to Texas was "the barrel chair".

My aunt has had the chair for as long as I can remember and I've been told that back in the 50s, my grandfather built the chair out of an old beer barrel.

Anyways, the chair is now in my office at home and is an ideal chair to sit in while strumming a few chords.

Very cool chair, Richard. Reminds me of something that would have been in the old Beer Wagon model from Monogram back in the '60s and early '70s.

As for the cooler under the seat; nah.........a man doesn't need the inconvenience of having to keep gettin' outta his chair when he's enjoying a beer or three. That's why man invented the Playmate!

Very cool Richard. I can relate, in the past year my wife and I have had our share of family members passing.

Some things you just cant part with, and in a new setting they take on a whole new purpose.

You did good. ImageImage

Very cool, Richard! Did your grandpappy consume the contents of the barrel first?

Needless to say.......... I would have!! Image
