Question for anyone that can answer

Post by 2ricks »

I was wondering, about how many guitars are being worked on at the factory each day?

What factory would that be, Adam?

Seriously, a couple hundred at least, most times I've been there...but that doesn't mean they ship that many each day. The paint/buff process alone takes over a week.

If you were to ask how many they shipped in a day, I couldn't answer, but the factory site can give you a clue, as their shipping is refreshed each time a new shipment goes out.

yeah I know. I'm working on building this 310 replica (don't worry Mr. Hall, headstock is far from looking like a RIC) and it is HARD.

So, what does the body look like? Hopefully nothing like U.S. trademark reg. no. 2749116. I'm only pointing this out because most people forget that many other things are covered besides the head, such as body, tailpiece and pickup shapes as well.

And I've been printing $20 bills in my basement. I sure hope there's no law against that. :-)
If there isn't a 12 string Rickenbacker playing at my funeral, I'm leaving.

Sounds like a Jeopardy answer, Adam.

Perhaps he's working from a pre-existing body. I had a friend who bought a 450/12` years ago that was detached from the neck (although the neck was with it, and was removed, not broken) and had all the electronics/plastics/hardware removed from it. It has been re-finished in a very fine metallic white, with a pearly coat over the top It was in a cardboard box at a yard sale in Oklahoma as he was passing through. He wouldn't sell it, but today it's still in the box. He says he'll get to it someday, but he's picked up about ten or twelve times and got overwhelmed and stopped messing with and put it back in the closet. I wish he'd just part with it so I could invest my time into really making it into something.
Thanks!
