Looks that way. That Gibson-style keystone tuner needs to go!

Flood damage or an attempt at the "relic" look. This would be a good find for the Curmudgeon who could really make something of it. Let me see. What colour?

Coincidentally enough, the serial number on my 1974 "all black" 4001 is ND 2485.
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

May I point out that the above-pictured 4001 is not in my collection. IIRC it was on Ebay some months back, and the (beautiful) deep green finish was actually a refin. I downloaded a few additional pics of it at the time.

All the same, it looks very nice in that color! Reminds me of my Forest Green Chevelle....
