Just got back from taking my son there. What an experience. My guess is they had at least 100 acts.
My son experienced moshing, and basically getting half squished to death in the crowds for the better bands.
Cooler was the opportunity for real unknowns to go around hawking their stuff. Some was really good, and I picked up a couple of $5cd's for the kid.
At 10 years old, he had to be one of the youngest attendees. Other kids were impressed(as I am) how fluent he is in underground music.
One band, who wasn't playing but, handing out free music gave him a disc. When he saw the label, he chased the guy down to tell him, he knew of the band, and how great he thought they were. Bet he made that guy's day.
This kid makes my day, every day. The most fun father/son outing we've had.

A little late for that Charlie. He dabbles in bass, drums, guitar, piano, violin, and clarinet.
While most parents sent their kids to sleepaway or day camp this summer, my kid's going to rock'n'roll camp, where he'll write a song with a group, learn it over a week's time, then perform it in the end.
I don't push him because I think he'll be a rock star, but because I want him to have music as part of his life. The main thing he has, that I enjoy is genuine influence.

I couldn't agree with you more, Marc.
Man, do I wish you and your son lived in the same neighborhood as us!

Marc, I need to buy Protools. I know that Alisha, JDog and Biscuti are all going to give me a serve for not having done so earlier. This would allow our lads to play and create digital tracks shared between them.
I'll add it to the list of things to do!
PS Would be great to see you at SoCal. Do it!

Not sure if you need protools. I will find out. I mentioned the possibility to my son, and he was excited about it.
Problem with SoCal, is the the kid is going to Rock'n'Roll camp, and performs his song Friday afternoon. If I can get a redeye that night, or come Sat thru Monday, I might do it.
