Sad loss of a very interesting guy - producing Duane Eddy and writing "Boots" alone would give him a major place in pop history.
Some interesting links here - especially the radio interview.

RIP Lee Hazlewood
First Lp I bought was Duane Eddy's Have Twangy Guitar Will Travel. Lee xo-wrote most of the songs on the Lp including Rebel-Rouser. This Lp was the forerunner of what five years later, was to become surf music. Our band covers one of the tunes "Moovin N Groovin" off this Lp which the opening guitar figure was later put to good use by The Beach Boys on "Surfin USA" Lee also wrote the classic surf song "Baja"..."some velvet morning when I'm straight"...R.I.P.
Reverb set to stun !!
