1996 360C63 12-string

Post by gglenn »

Folks--

I'm new to this forum, and a new "old" Ric owner. I recently bought a 1996 360C63, 12 string, with the split intonator bridge. I'm curious how this guitar compares to the 360V64, and if the production run of the 360C63 was limited.

Thanks.

I have a '00 360/V64/12, I'd be curious to what the differences are, too.

Mine came with the 6-saddle bridge. And soon to be replaced with a custom tooled 12-saddle bridge as part of an operation the guitar is undergoing to remove "Rickenbacker-itis". Image

There is no such thing as a 360c63.

Let me rephrase that - if your guitar was made in 1996, it is a 360/12v64.

Quick you guys, How many fingers am I holding up?

A 360/12v64 based on what information? Methinks maybe, but maybe not...Thee may be a little hasty, Kenny. It could be that the gent simply has a conventional, round-top 360/12 made in 1996. Or come to think of it, perhaps a 330/12.

So tell us, Gary, what are the distinguishing features of your 360/12? Pointy horns or rounded? Bound top or no? Shark-tooth fretboard inlays or dots? One or two input jacks? Toasters or High-gain pickups? Is the soundhole bound? Does it glow in the dark? Etc., etc.

Paul, in an otherwise comprehensive list, you forgot: 21- or 24-fret neck? Also, if dual output jacks, are they dual mono or Ric-O-Sound and Standard?

Guys, it was a newbie's enthusiasm and the misheard words of a salesman in a store. It's a whitebound double pointy, toasters, shark-tooth inlays. I guess the split intonator bridge was a previous owner enhancement. And now that you mention it, it does glow in the dark.

Ah...Now I concur with Kenny: 360/12v64. Cool. When you get tired of it, may I have it? I need a night light...

I assume the glow-in-the-dark Ric is a follow-up to the equally rare light show model. I drew a jack-o-lantern on the back and put the guitar in the window for Halloween.
