Well, although I'm not a Yank's fan, you can't help but love the Mick!

Since we're on a baseball kick and there's talk about the person who caught Bonds's #756 keeping the ball, I'll offer this tidbit about another significant ball -- the one Mazeroski hit to win the 1960 series, from Wikipedia:
"In the 1960 World Series, Mazeroski hit a game-winning home run off New York Yankees pitcher Ralph Terry which won the series for Pittsburgh. It was the first time a World Series had ever been ended by a home run and has remained the defining event of Mazeroski's career. Ted Szafranski, 13 at the time, caught the famous Mazeroski home run ball. He gave it to Mazeroski in exchange for two cases of beer. The ball has since been placed in the Hall of Fame."
Now back to Rickenbacker. 4001 or 4003? Which is better?

Naw, this thread fell down pages ago. Imagine a pro baseball player doing that today: Here kid, 2 cases of beer for my ball. That player would light up the AP wires. For an entire day, we wouldn't even hear about Lindsey, Paris or Nicole. Maybe not even Brad and Angelina.
