And whilst Darren was hard at work "wheeling and dealing" for that amazing guitar, he also took the time to help me acquire this:-2002 330/12
As testimony to the brotherhood that exists within this forum,my thanks go, firstly to Trotty for his guidance in buying this baby, Joey Vasco for helping us "Stateside",and Howard for agreeing to "courier" it back to Australia for me!
Thank-you, all 3!
Joey, the first beers are on me at SoCal!

I am, in fact, working on a fishtail-headstocked 700C as we speak, for a Forumite who will remain, for now, anonymous...

Now HOW cool is that?
Hey, how about a FOOW bass with THAT headstock?
Congratulations Darren, you have some of the COOLEST guitars I've ever seen! VERY NICE!
Yes, do tell the story....PLEASE

Last night I arrived home to a house full of kids after a very hectic week. After wrestling control of the computer away from my 7 year old and her friend, I checked my email.
There was a message from Greg Rahilly, asking if I had seen the 330-12 listed on eBay during the day. I knew Greg had been after one for a while. I logged onto Aussie eBay to look for the guitar Greg was after.
My jaw hit the floor. Twice. The twins had been listed less than an hour beforehand.
I was visibly shaking as I hit both BIN buttons. I simply could not believe what I was seeing and buying. My long-suffering wife Robyn was cheering me on..."faster, faster, faster" she said. God, I love her
Here are my new twins, a 700-12S Shasta and a 730S Shilo (or is it a 385?), both in pristine condition:-

I may well have missed them if Greg had not given me reason to check eBay then and there. I called Greg and thanked him for the heads up. We then focussed our combined efforts on securing Greg's gorgeous 330-12 in Mid Blue with factory toasters, which was on US eBay.
Greg negotiated with the seller for a sale price; I bought it on behalf of Greg using my Paypal facility; it's being sent to Joey Vasco, who will mind it until SoCal and finally it will be brought home to Australia for Greg by Aitch!
Now that's what I called International RickResource Forumite cooperation.
I have a headache from the adrenelin rush
