I love the elegant simplicity of the 4000, I love single pickup passive guitars, so I own Fender P's and a Musicmaster, Gibson LP Jr and ES-125T guitars, my Gretsch 6070 is also a single pickup bass. But with a Ric, I have to have the neck pickup, it's the sound that works best for me. Most of the time, the only function of the bridge pickup is as a hand-rest. So I guess I'll admire your 4000's and keep my 4001 and 4003...

I suppose you could convert your 4001 or 4003 into a 4000 II with just a neck pickup! Now that would be different. Image
