Great post, Charly!

Jeff, could you play that on that new Rickenbacker 12?

The basic principle is easy. The pattern is 1,3,5,6,1(octave),6,5,3 over and over again superimposed on each chord change. I'd learn that first, and then figure the rest out after I have the basic pattern down. Pick technique is down, up, down, up etc. You can do it.

You CAN do it Charly..but stick around anyway..this riff style much like SRV's Rude Mood ie really not as tough as you would think..first learn the basic repeated patern..nice and slow bring it up to speed when you're ready...the riff braks can be learned one at a time.don't have to do exactly like this version Jeff's Boogie is another take +/- on this idea..I expect a post of you doing this tune by Christmas...

George, speaking of Rude Mood. Who knows, maybe I'll be able to get a lesson or two from the master himself.

I've seen Tommy twice. The first time was at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood. My jaw was on the floor for most of the show. Monster player, nice guy, and hell of an entertainer. If you ever get a chance to see him, go. He does a cool Beatles medley too, see for yourself....
