Which flats do I have here?

Post by Lost Coyotes »

I have a nice set of old flats on one of my basses, and want to order another set for another bass.
Problem is I can't remember what I bought long ago...
They are flat wounds, measure 45 55 70 100
Gold ball ends, with red silk at both ends.

Ideas? Thanks.

It's possible I may have TI flats.
I double-checked and it's actually 43,56,70,100.

I remember ordering some TIs a while back but I could have sworn I put them on another bass, duh...

Do TI's have red silks?

Hey Mike, TI's do have red silks, but I can't remember if they had gold ball ends.
Buy it before someone else does.

My Thomastiks are red silk, gold colored ball ends and similar gauges. I'm thinking that's what you have. Are they real soft when you try to coil them to fit back in a sleeve, or a bit springy? If soft, probably T-Is!

I have TI's on one of my Rick Turner basses and they fit the description.

What RT do you have? I have a RB4FL with those ultra slinky TI Acousticores.
