I don't actually know his name but he was investigated and arrested by the police in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, then prosecuted and convicted by whatever judicial body serves that region. I was on call to testify last November but it proven unnecessary in the end, as the case was pretty straightforward.

I wish that there was a sticky or faq here with John's explanation on it. I get tired of posts questioning why its wrong to steal others designs, etc......! Instead of John having to explain, we could race to show the poster where the answer(s) lie. :-) Don't get me wrong, I enjoy his posts but I feel sorry for his fingertips...

Good idea, maybe we should cut and paste his posts into some sort of digest of RIC intellectual protection statement. Seems like this one comes up twice or three times a year.

Wish I could protect my intellect.

Ah, but I regress, rapidly...

Their used to be a section like that. It was called Ask John Hall questions. Or something like that. It may be good to start that again. I think it went away after some folks used it as a dumping ground for all their ideas on how to run RIC and to criticize John on how he runs the company Actually, it may be a good thing it is gone.

I think it would be a good idea to have a 'Frequently Asked Questions' thread, which could be locked, to cover all the same questions that keep popping up when new forumites join.

Good idea. The RIC corporate forum has such a topic section.

The old "alt.guitar.rickenbacker" site had an excellent FAQ. In fact, it was the only thing good about that site...

Yup, Paul.
That is the first place where I learned about RICs.

I like the idea...but I don't think FAQ sections get used in the way they are intended to be used, at least not by all. People like to interact on forums, and they are likely to want "live" answers to their questions, rather than searching through a long web page. And some of us may answer a new forum member's question with the seemingly icy response of "Go to the FAQ section!"

But it WOULD be a good thing to have, for all of us.

Say, come to think of it, why can't I buy a Rickenbacker TRC for my Tokai?

But if we had a FAQ thread here, when someone new joins and asks, "How do I adjust the truss rods?", we could refer them to the the FAQ thread, instead of explaining it (again!) or finding a previous thread that explains it.

I think the reasons to have it far outweigh the reasons not to.

I wonder what Peter has to say about this...
