It certainly deserves a place somewhere for resurrecting this thread, Ian!

I own a 12-string Hamer as well, but it's one of the more angular models, a CH-12.I've also got a Waterstone Tom Petersson model in red/yellow burst that sees more use than the Hamer. It's a killer guitar and better balanced than the Hamer because of a heavier and larger LP-style body.

Back to best-looking. Your Hamer is well-proportioned and well-finished, with great attention to detail and (judging from mine) excellent playability, too.

If I had to numerically rate it:

Aesthetics: 7.5
Quality: 9 (this is an American-made bass, too)

Just a little FYI: Fender Rosewood Teles, Necks and Bodies, even the solid ones with the Maple cross section, were all made from East Indian RW. The only Brasilian RW ever used was for fingerboards in the 50's/early 60's for a short time. These all had a thick poly finish.

Here is a link that explains the Chinery Blue Collection. It was based on, and inspired by a a blue Centura Deluxe crafted by D'Aquisto, successor to John D'Angelico.
