Camcorders

Post by brammy »

Does anyone have some suggestions for a moderately priced digital camcorder? I'd like to keep the price down but dont want to buy junk.

(I'll be uploading to a MiniMac for editing in i-movie)

I just bought a Sony Mini-DV camera and I love it! It has a pop-out color screen, digital out, it's sweet. I got it on a one-day sale from Dell for around $200. About a little bigger than my fist!

Kinda like this?

Sony’s DCR-HC46 is their middle-of-the-road offering for MiniDV this year. It’s something of a Goldilocks camcorder – not too expensive, not too cheap. Not too skimpy on features, and certainly not too heavy on the features, either. It offers all the convenience that hallmark a Sony, but the video had some drawbacks. Is this camcorder “just right?”

Yep, thats very similar to it. Mine has had no issues at all with live recording either, it looks like it has a mic that does not overload when recording live music. It does all I need a camera to do.
