To keep, or not to keep.

Just for fun...If you could keep only one of the five, which would it be, and why?

It all depends on what condition they are in and if you are keeping them for playing or a collectable.
Also what features are on the 73?
If I had to get rid of one I know which one that would be.....the 4004. Image

'71 4001. Charismatic/desirable/scarcer, period. Uh... A 21 fretter by any chance?...
A Rickenbacker bass is much like the Jaguar E car - perennially ultra-fashionable.

Either the '71 or the '73, depending on condition and features. If 'thinning the herd', I agree that the '05 would be the first to go, followed by the '86.

I'm not much a collector, so let's say for playing.
The 73 is a May 73. It doesn't have FWMOP inlays or split tailpiece. It has a stripe, CB binding and a wonderful neck. Original with minor wear, and nice player.
The 71 is a collector bass, I think. 20 frets, No stripe, but has split tailpiece. A few minor little surface scratches, but all original.
The 86 is kinda rare in that it's MG/BT. Maybe not rare, but I don't see many.
The 4004 is louder than the others, lighter and thicker sounding.
The DCM is - well you know what it is. It's mint.

I'll throw a vote in for keeping the 4004.....but I'm biased (although I'd prefer a Laredo). Image I'd also hang on to the the '71. Other than that I'd bail on the rest.

Keep the '71.
It'll have the highest value down the road, and old FG finishes are spectacular.
Or alternately, the DCM.

You can tell I'm not a MG fan!

I'd keep the Cii, but that's only because I don't have one, and really really want one, badly.

Looks pretty clean.
You could make quite a bundle if you were to sell.
