NOW she understands.

So I took the family for a little trip to Alto in Wappingers yesterday... your friendly local Rick dealer. Staring me in the face as we walked in the door was a brand-new 330JG, so I says to the wife, "When are you gonna get the chance again?" She played it for about 15 minutes and fell in love with it! Said it practically played itself... to make her say it was miles ahead of her beloved Telecaster it must have been nice!

So why didn't I play it? Well, I'm a bassist and I would have embarrassed myself... AND, they had a nice used upright and never having touched one before, I said what the Hell and busted out some jazz licks... BAD idea. I want it SO bad now... GAS pains EXTREME... I'm considering having an unused gear clearance sale to fund it.

I knew I should have just gone home after I returned that damned tux!!! Image

Hmmm... so you did buy the Ric or you did not? Sorry, my head doesn't work very well today (too much stupid work...)

Nah, we didn't et out of there with it. Given the choice of what she played, she would have left with an Ovation. Image

She's an acoustic player at heart... but if she didn't know how awesome Ricks were by playing my 4001, now she really gets it!

I can't stop thinking about that URB though...

Well, then she needs a RIC acoustic!

She's seen them.... I honestly think she'd sell one of my kidneys if she could!

Nice to have a wife who not only understands GAS, but feels it herself! Image

Wait? Haha... my daughter has her own bass already (Rogue VB-100) and not only does my son want one too, but he plays the Hammond and my drum pad as much as we do!

Aren't they planning to found a band? Image

"Nice to have a wife who not only understands GAS, but feels it herself!"

Isn't that more competition for the acquisition funds?! Image

Not so... she's female, and as such born with inherent self-control...

Ummmm.... being female does not necessarily guarantee inherent self-control, LOL!

Experience proves that point here.... Image

Ok, ok, so there are exceptions... Image

I thought about the irony of that last statement of mine, as I counted my 3 basses and drumpad vs. her 3 acoustics, 2 electrics, banjo, mando, Hammond... and I think I might have found a way to justify that upright! Of course since I use the recording gear far more than she does she'd likely foist that all into my tally... never mind I'm usually recording HER!!!

Apparently I was talking out of me arse before... but she was in the room. A smart man knows how not to start civil war... Image

I lived around Wappinger's Falls for three years (and in Dutchess County for ten years). Glad I didn't play (and have GAS) then.
