If only I could get over my ebay-phobia. Image

BIN price of 2 large, I wonder what the reserve is? I'm thinking at least $1,200. She's a real doll baby though, wow!!

$1100 to $1300 seems like a fair price ... maybe $1500

If I remember correctly, an 8-string Redneck sold for about $1700 on eBay; isn't this one about as rare?

Jeff, I take it then that you don't feel that the non-typical finish and its last-year-of-production status would add to its value?

By the way, Jared, I know what you mean; I missed getting a 4003/S5 in Midnight Blue for around $800 about a year and a half ago. I keep kicking myself for that gaffe.

Gary:

It might be worth $2000 or more to some people ... I'm not much for buying those special 1 year colors because they are rare ... I am a player not a collector ... I guess that is a strange statement for a guy with 12 basses ... the only bass that I consider "Collected" right now is my 60's 4001 ... the rest are there to be played ... So I don't care about rare of special colors ... I go for good looks and good sound ...

Jeff, I see your point. I, too, consider myself a "player/collector" and not a "collector/player", as I try to get all of the guitars out once in a while and play them. And don't feel bad about having 12 basses, I have 11 RIC basses (12, if one counts the 4080 as a bass!) plus a Vox Cougar, a BC Rich custom bass, and a Carvin T.B. Schmidt prototype, and I'm mainly a rhythm player!

Damn ... I'm jealous ... I've only got 5 rics ... man you got a 4080 ... that's cool ...

one of these days I want to get a 4003s8 ... I should have grabbed the one that went for $1100 ...

wonder where I fit?

Not good enough to be a "player", AND not enough pieces to be a collecter.

Must be a hoarder...

I think to the right person that maybe is worth two grand, I agree with Jeff about $1500.00 is reasonable, I wouldn't pay $2000.0 for one thing because I don't really like the color all that much. And I am much more a player than a collector also, my 72 4001 fretless and my 2000 Sea Green 4003 are collectables to me (and when I bought it I thought it was a custom paint job, I didn't know it was a rare factory color, I bought it because I liked it) but any other is fair game for any gig I got. I buy them to play them, almost always anyway.
A hoarder!! haha!!
