Mitch, I have to tell you...the links you choose to post are always wicked good gems. If we collected and listed all of your YouTube links in one spot, that would make one hell of a fine rock and roll history class.
Thanks Mitch.

Not so, but you probably knew that... Ziggy was written in 1972.

Todd took the name from the Lord Buckley's riff about "The Nazz"(the 1st clip I posted above).

I'm impressed by the guitar tone they achieved on this one...definitely ahead of it's time, and a precursor of things to come.

Bob,I stand corrected.According to Wikipedia:
" Origin of the band's name
The Nazz took their name from the song "The Nazz are Blue" by The Yardbirds from their album Roger the Engineer. That song, in turn, took its title from Lord Buckley's comic monologue, "The Nazz," which is a re-telling of the tale of Jesus of Nazareth. [1] It is also often erroneously said that the band took its name from a line in the David Bowie song "Ziggy Stardust" which goes: "He was the nazz, with god-given ***..." but that song appeared in 1972, long after the first Nazz album, which appeared in 1968"
