I personally wouldn't pay more than 1200USD, but it seems that such things go for twice as much in the EU market.

I'm one that doesn't really care for it. Does the black trim make it more valuable? I am thinking along the lines of what Sean is thinking.

Black trim on a MG seems to be a little unusual. I wouldn't say rare, but certainly not common.

We also seem to be in an inflationary period regarding prices. Seems the evil bay prices are edging up lately.

He is asking 1200 euro or best offer.
He also has a 4001CS, but he is keeping that one. I've never seen a 4001CS in real life so that would be a nice advantage.

For a time in the '80s, Mapleglo came standard with black trim. You had to pay extra to get a "reversed" trim option to get white/chrome (according to catalog of the period). BT was ended as an option during 2002, but a few later ones appeared.

If the maple has a nice wood grain than it looks nice, but I have also seen very simple and flat grained bodies where the black trim looks a bit awkward. Keep in mind the bodies of that area (late 80ies to early 90ies) were rather "big horned" and heavy!

1200 Euros (whats the conversion rate now?) seems like a pretty good deal, those 92's have nice necks generally. Except that is has a stupid looking aftermarket black treble pickup plate though, is an eyesore to me. those things are be going to be like CarBras pretty soon.
Make sure you can get the original black treble ring.

My eyes have to get used to the bridge which looks a bit different when everything is black except for the saddles.
