Don't we have a few forum members in Japan?
We need to work out an agreement with a fellow Rickenbrother over there!
Sorry Joey, I didn't translate the page.
They have some RIC's for sale on that site!

"I've been wanting a 4001v63 for yonks, ever since I sold an RM1999 about 15 years ago not knowing it was pretty rare. What a plamph."
You learn something new everyday on this forum. And for me today, so far...it is this:
Plamph - (N) One who takes part in the odd, practice of wearing someone elses undergarments on their head, and giving the gusset a damn good sniff.
Verb plamph
A practice of deriving sexual pleasure by sniffing the contents of a used pair of lady's undergarments, usually worn about the head like a crusty hat.
I now have a new favorite word.
Thanks, David

I always knew I wanted a backup. I just didn't have the funds for one. I thought it made sense to get something other than a Rick to increase my versatility. I tried every bass I could get my hands on in every music store I went to. Each time I returned home, played my Rick and breathed a sigh of contentment.
NOTHING compared: Too big; doesn't balance well; neck is too skinny; neck is too fat; nowhere to rest my hand when I play; doesn't sound good; control layout is confusing...There was always something I didn't like.
So finally after around 20 years of looking, I just bought another Rick as a backup. And then another. And another. And another. And so on, and so on, and so on!

Not only is this forum informative and fun, but its educational too.
My old dictionary doesn't have plamph in it, but I had a rough idea what it meant!
It seems to get used quite a lot in Scottish comedy shows like Chewin' the fat and Still game etc.
Thank you for that detailed description Jeff.
When I bought my 1st new 4003 in 1985, I put my Music Man Sabre bass under the bed and didn't play it for months. When I went back to it and played it, it felt really weird, so I sold it and bought the RM1999 for £250 in Glasgow. It was tatty but sounded fantastic, then I sold it when I moved to work in London.
Thats why I'm hoping to get a 4001v63 to kind of replace it. I know it won't be the same, but it'll still help me get over not having the RM1999.
