The seller claims its a 1960 or 1970. The ad shows the serial number as J85437 and according to the RIC serial number decoder it was made in October of 1995.
But it has binding with dot inlays? The neck appears to be set neck and not neck thru. What do you think?
Is this genuine or fake on E-Bay?

Yes. My all-black fretless is black paint with black plastic binding and stereo outputs, all hallmarks of the 4003. All factory produced fretless have bound necks with dot position markers, not the shark fin markers. As far as I know, any fretless with shark fins would be a conversion.
