This reminds me of a post I meant to post here some time ago. I've been asked by somebody if they know where they could get a hurdy gurdy. Keep in mind, I'm in the southern Ontario area. I know it's a long shot but I figured this forum would be as good a place as any to ask.

I know a guy who has a hurdy gurdy that he plays at our local Renaissance Festival but he built it himself.

“I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did.”

Great song, I've always loved this song. I had always heard that The Jeff Beck Group played the music but that is not correct, Wikipedia has it wrong too.

Donovan - Acoustic Guitar
John Paul Jones - Arrangement, Musical Director and Bass Guitar
Alan Parker - Lead (electric) Guitar
Clem Cattini - Drums.

I'd always heard the rumor that it was a Decca session that Jimmy Page played on for Mickey Most. Kinda sounds like a Tele and a Tonebender. But, alas, it was not Mr. Page either, but as listed above.

Whoever Alan Parker was, he was great, I loved that guitar sound and his long bending lines.(along with the rest of the whole song)

I think the label on the 45 of Goo Goo Barabajagal (sp???) credits The Jeff Beck Group.
