Yeah, my 77 mapleglo 4001 was brand new too. I've bought at least 5 or 6 brand new ones since then.

Ever since I've got the latest, I'm selling my other Ric basses; maybe I'll keep a 4004Cii?

My first RIC was my 325V59 in the springtime of 1994. In the company forum I have told the story before how I got it for a very low price at a small shop in Cologne. It is being refinished and refretted right now and I will get it back in about two weeks, I will post pictures then. It is my favorite guitar.

My last RIC was the 325C64 I got recently (manufactured in February, picked up by my parents for me at the shop in April and picked up by myself at my parents´ home in the USA in June, when I was there for my summer vacancy). I am not as happy with this one as with my other RICs, but we are in the process of getting used to each other.

My own personal guitar, a 92 330 MG BT was acquired in January 2006.
The first Ric I ever procured was a 78 4001 JG I picked up for a friend in 1983. He gave me money & instructions for a Ric when I was headed to the big city. Now I live in that big city and he lives in a smaller city out west, so my most recent procurement was to replace his original 4001 (stolen, covered by his insurance) with a 1980 4001 FG this February.
