Just got back from the Rush show in Columbus, OH

Post by guymanndude »

In case no one has mentioned it here yet, Geddy Lee is playing a Ric again. I wish it was for more than one song, but he is carrying it, and used it last night on "A Passage To Bangkok". It was at Germain Amphitheater, I got there before the sun went down and looked over to Geddy's side of the stage, hoping that he would actually play a Ric again. Then, low and behold, in his rack of guitars, being tuned by his bass tech, a JetGlo Ric.
It was like a mirage, I really had to keep looking at it again and again. I then told my wife to count three in from the right and tell me if that guitar neck is black with white trim, she said yes. She then added, "In fact, it looks like one of the basses you have." I knew then I wasn' seeing things.
I waited all evening for him to use it, he went through every one he had. They were in the encore, and had just finished two songs, when I heard the refrains of "A Passage To Bangkok", start and the lights came up and there he stood playing the Ric.
I haven't seen him do that for years, I still think it sounded better than the '72 Jazz.
You don't have to understand here, to be here.
