Trade Anniversary Guitar for Bass

Post by techma1 »

Hi,

I am not a Ric enthusiast but my husband (Ted) is, *big time*. I purchased a 75th anniversary guitar from Sam Ash (as an investment) shortly after he purchased a 75th anniversary bass from Chicago Music Exchange. I got the guitar and he got F***ed out the bass. I am not exactly sure of the protocol on this forum and I do not want this message bounced out, so I am being mild in my description of the incident. I would however, like to commend Sam Ash on the service and follow through. I also, would like to post the entire incident detail regarding the Chicago Music Exchange, if that is allowed.

But here is my question. Would anyone be interested in trading a brand new, perfect condition 75th anniversary 660 for a bass?

Thanks for your consideration.

Welcome Marianne,

You will find there were a few members here that had the EXACT same thing happen to them. It seems that everyone who ordered them through CME got the shaft.

Welcome, best of luck and I'm SURE those members will be posting here shortly!

Sorry you were taken as well.

Hi Jeff,
Long-time, no-see. How are you doing?
We have had a really busy "beginning of the school year" and have been going crazy for the past few months, but things are starting to settle down and Ted should be posting again.
See ya...

Welcome to the Forum, Marianne Image. Please pass on my regards to Ted - he is missed around here and we look forward to him posting again soon.

As for CME, I hear they've lost their RIC authorized dealership, and for good reason.

Welcome Marianne. I'll second the service and integrity of Sam Ash. I got my 75th Anniversary 330 from them.

Hi Marianne-

Good to see you here! Say "hi" to Mr. Ted from me! Becky and I will have to see you two sometime soon.

Good luck on the trade.

I'm still feeling the sting of the CME too. They cheated me out of my DCM 4003 and I'm quite bitter about it.

Since then they've missed out on about $10,000 of my business and at least $3,000 more business from a friend of mine.

As I'm sure you know, this wasn't an isolated incident. From what their former employees have told me, it was (and probably still is) commonplace.
