REALLY bad rock'n'roll movies

Post by brammy »

I just had the pleasure of watching HORROR OF PARTY BEACH and it'll take me a few days to recover my sanity. So BAD that it was GOOD and I did enjoy hearing The Del-Aires Swing Out 6 Big Beat Songs.

One of the the worst Rock'n'Roll movies out there was the made-for-TV movie KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park.

IT'S A BIKINI WORLD - with a performance by The Animals!!!!!

And boy did Eric look put out by the whole thing! The film was steaming pile of ...tripe. And there in the middle of the ridiculous beach film (featuring a skateboard race at the climax) was Eric Burdon and the Animals. It was nice to see Hilton Valentine's Rickenbacker.

"KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park."
First thing that came to my mind, other than the Beatles movies. I can't stand those.
Um, not rock and roll per say, but Spiceworld by the Spice Girls for those who hid under a rock in the 90's.

It was the Del-Aires... obviously this was the highlight of their career.

"(1963).....Nasty sea monsters are created as the result of a radioactive spill, in this, the first "horror monster musical," filmed on location in Stamford, Connecticut. The film's musical high point is a performance of the "Zombie Stomp" by the famed Del-Aires."

"(1967).....The highlight of this movie is when The Animals, The Toys, The Gentrys, Pat and Lolly Vegas, and The Castaways perform some of their biggest chart hits. Eric Burdon and the Animals perform We've Got to Get Out of This Place; the Toys sing Attack, a late girl groups tune that was also their last Top 40 hit; and The Castaways do Liar, Liar, making the movie enjoyable to watch and listen to.

Just last night I watching 'Pit Stop' aka 'The Winner'. It was filmed in 1967 and it's about a stock car/figure-8 racer in Los Angeles. The psychedelic fuzztone guitar soundtrack throughout is credited to The Daily Flash. I think they were from the Seattle area.

I gotta second the motion on that horrible KISS movie. That was the biggest steaming loaf of film I've ever sat through, but still entertaining.
