I did that in 1975. Some one brings it to me to make a 4 string out of it..If I'd have only had a crystal ball..But i saved the peghead wings.

Dale was the potato head that you worked on a 4001 or 4005?

Dave it was a 4001, CB binding. CP inlays and Mapleglo. At 1st I thought it was a modification made after it left the factory, I had never seen one before. I heated the peghead and pulled the wings then glued new Maple on and reshaped the head into a 4 string. It would be easy to turn a 4001 into one of these since I have the original wings..Anybody need a template let me know.
